IGT, a famous gaming entertainment company from the United Kingdom, and Sony Pictures Television have a 10-year contract from January 2025 to December 2034. Under the agreement, the London-based, NYSE-registered entertainment company will have exclusive Wheel of Fortune brand rights.
The deal allows IGT to provide the brand in gaming, lottery, iGaming, and iLottery. In addition, the company now has non-exclusive rights to distribute Wheel of Fortune content in social casinos for free.
According to Renato Ascoli, IGT CEO, Global Gaming, obtaining exclusive gaming, lottery, iGaming, and iLottery access to the Wheel of Fortune brand until 2034 allows the company to maximize the returns of its licensing partnership. The CEO noted that the deal would further boost the company's tradition of creating multichannel Wheel of Fortune games with high demand and significant prizes.
Ascoli added:
"Sony Pictures Television has been a trusted IGT partner for more than 25 years and in that time we've delivered a diverse portfolio of Wheel of Fortune games that has set the industry standard for innovation, it is the clear leader in industry game-performance charts and generated significant revenue for our customers."
Wheel of Fortune is among IGT's top-performing gambling products. The company has used it as a strategic element within its iGaming selection and has incorporated it into several lottery games.
Recently, IGT has managed to roll out this product to several leading operators in North America. For instance, the company launched its first brand-led Wheel of Fortune online casino in the United States after signing a deal with one of the region's leading operators in March this year.
